Axia TechHer 2025 was more than a panel session — it was a living, breathing affirmation that women belong in every corner of the technology industry. Hosted by the charismatic Precious Aniezi, the event welcomed guests with an energy that was open, curious, and deeply human. From playful icebreakers to bold storytelling and deeply personal confessions, the experience transcended tech jargon. It was about women: their journeys, their decisions, their resilience, and their voice in shaping the future.

Held in an intimate, warm setting, the room was filled with young professionals, aspiring tech enthusiasts, and seasoned experts — all eager to listen, learn, and connect. Precious opened with a lighthearted game of ‘Three Truths and One Lie,’ immediately breaking the ice and encouraging everyone to drop pretenses. Laughter echoed as panelists and audience members tried to fool and read each other — a perfect metaphor for the unexpected paths each woman had taken into tech.

Meet the Host

Precious Aniezi, with her blend of humor and insight, guided the conversation with grace. She shared her own tech-adjacent journey, proudly saying, 'I’m not in tech, but I’m teching in my own way.' That statement — equal parts vulnerable and empowering — set the stage for a conversation where every woman, regardless of background, felt welcomed into the tech space.

The Panelist

Mrs. Modupe Jiwalde

Co-founder & COO of Tech Fusion Africa, whose tech journey began in the 1980s after her first encounter with a desktop computer. She would go on to become an academic and fintech founder, building apps to serve cooperative societies and later daily earners like tricycle drivers and market women. ‘Impact comes first,’ she said. ‘We build to make life better.

Lois Joshua Osasebor

A former sports journalist who pivoted into digital marketing after sensing both a need and a divine nudge. She candidly shared how her family once saw her as unfocused — hopping from beading to hairstyling — until she stayed consistent in tech. ‘This is my fifth year in digital marketing. Now, they know it’s real.’

Hannah Nnanna

Head of Admin at Asia Hub, who delivered a hands-on case for embracing AI. From processing student data to handling administrative workloads, Hannah showcased how AI makes work smarter, not harder. She emphasized prompt engineering, ethical use, and staying updated to avoid being replaced by the very tools meant to help.

Ruth Sam-Mbok

A cybersecurity analyst with a bold presence took the audience on a historical journey. ‘Tech used to be dominated by women,’ she said. ‘We were the first programmers.’ She spoke of a Kenyan woman who now accepts Bitcoin payments in her restaurant simply because she took time to understand blockchain. ‘Learning tech is like learning English — not for show, but for survival.’

Human Moments

Beyond their accomplishments, the women shared pieces of their humanity. Modupe confessed that the restroom is her reading sanctuary. Ruth once dreamed of being a DJ. Hannah revealed she dislikes texts typed in capital letters. These confessions turned tech leaders into relatable women — women navigating life, family, fear, dreams, and ambition.

The Message

What echoed throughout the session was clear: you don’t need to code to be in tech. You just need to care, to be curious, and to be willing to learn. Tech isn’t a boys’ club. It’s a toolkit — one that women are fully capable of wielding and shaping.

Whether through fintech apps, digital storytelling, AI-based admin workflows, or blockchain business models, every woman in the room left with proof that tech isn’t far — it’s around them, and it can be theirs.

Closing

As the event wrapped up, Precious invited questions from the audience and engaged with newcomers like old friends. The final message was personal but collective: Every woman in that room mattered — not just for what she knew, but for the possibilities she represented.

Axia TechHer 2025 was not just a tech conversation. It was a declaration. A celebration. A spark. And for many women in that room, the beginning of something audacious and new.
