Africa has been known for ground breaking innovations and inventions, but not enough to facilitate the kind of economic and technological evolutions that are visible in other parts of the globe, the continent has been focused on outdated conventional approaches to education while the world has moved and invested in technical, skill based and entrepreneurial education.

The declining educational system ensures that African youths, students and innovators continually remain disadvantaged and unable to be well suited to the global technological transitions, and consequently, unable to take advantage of evolving technology to improve the continent or participate enough for personal development that leads to a better quality of life.

In response to the glaring need on the continent, the hub thought out, planned and hosted the first edition of its Inter Secondary Schools Competition tagged “AXIA Tech Challenge” or ATC 3.0. This edition is centered around programming and is one among many other expressions to be launched under the Axia Tech Challenge umbrella.

This competition is geared towards igniting and promoting technological skills in pupils, students and the next generation. Technology and innovation have experienced massive growth in recent years, and there was and is a glaring need to position the next generation to fully benefit from this evolution.

Axia Hub via this initiative is creating the enabling atmosphere required to facilitate innovation and growth, this is one of the many other initiatives Axia Hub is pioneering to contribute to the development of technology in Africa.
